ABOUT US

The Florence & Fabian Ribeiro Foundation, a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), was established in honour of the late Drs. Florence and Fabian Ribeiro. The Foundation was founded by their granddaughters, Besilindile Ribeiro and Nonkululeko Applegreen.

The Foundation aims to strengthen previously disadvantaged communities by implementing transformative programs that will address the underlying causes of poverty. These programs will be centered on Education and Healthcare (including; physical, mental and environmental health).

Being a teacher, education was close to Florence’s heart and she strongly believed that every child should have access to quality education. Fabian was a medical doctor who treated victims of apartheid pro bono and ensured that no one was turned away. They were extensively involved in the plight to overcome the injustices faced by the disenfranchised people of South Africa. The Foundation aims to uphold Florence and Fabian’s legacy by continuing their good work and never losing sight of the vision they had for their community.
