COMPUTER LITERACY

Introducing digital literacy at schools from an early age will enable young learners to keep up with an increasingly digital proficient world. Learners will develop key skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, processing and analyzing information as well as foster creativity and innovation. There are also risks that come with access and exposure to the digital environment – if digital safety and security is taught earlier on, many of these risks can be mitigated.

As a start, we will implement the digital literacy programme at F.F. Ribeiro Primary School, one of our beneficiaries. At present, the school lacks the necessary resources to equip learners with this essential skill.

Our objective is to supply the school with computers, educational software, and comprehensive staff training. This will be a continuous programme aimed at maximising the benefits for the learners.
