SPORTS PROGRAMME

F.F. Ribeiro Primary School, located in Mamelodi, Tshwane, is one of our cherished beneficiaries. Currently, the school lacks a structured sports programme. This programme aims to integrate sports into the school’s curriculum and ensure that learners gain essential skills through athletic participation.

Engaging in a well-organised sports programme from a young age is associated with enhanced academic performance and overall cognitive growth over time. It is also a great way to keep young learners actively engaged, and away from the temptations of crime and substance abuse.

Furthermore, regular involvement in sports can yield significant physical and mental health benefits. It also serves as an excellent opportunity to discover hidden talents, allowing learners to develop their abilities and pursue their passions from an early stage.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Repair the dilapidated sports court and convert it into a multi-sport facility, enbaling learners to participate in soccer, netball and volleyball. (The current facility is not in use due to its poor condition and hazardous nature)
  2. Provide sports apparel and equipment for learners.
  3. Ensure that teachers receive sufficient training to enable them to effectively coach learners.
  4. Ensure the sustainability of the sports programme so that learners can fully reap its benefits.
